I am a specialist family law barrister. My practice includes care of children, family violence and relationship property matters (including protection of assets during a relationship and division of property after separation). I am a qualified Lawyer for Child and am regularly appointed by the Family Court to act for children in Care of Children and Oranga Tamariki Act proceedings. I undertake some legal aid work.
I am a graduate of the University of Canterbury having studied both law and psychology. I was admitted as a barrister and solicitor of the High Court of New Zealand in 2009. I worked for and was the partner of a North Canterbury law firm from 2009 to 2023 when I became a barrister and joined Atticus Chambers.
I have extensive experience acting for clients in highly emotive situations. I provide sound legal advice and representation that achieves the best outcomes for my clients whether that be through negotiations, mediation or in the Family Court.
A predominant aspect of my practice is litigation and I am experienced in representing adults and children in all types of Family Court hearings.
I am a member of the NZ Law Society, the Family Law Section and the NZ Bar Association. I was formerly on the board of Community Wellbeing North Canterbury.
I can take direct instructions on most matters, however, for the majority of relationship property matters I will need to be instructed by a solicitor.
